Please note that my services are not covered by MSP, however, are covered by most major extended health insurance programs. Please consult your benefits provider to ensure a registered social worker is covered prior to booking.
If your benefits are through Medavie Blue Cross or the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) I am a registered provider and can direct bill your sessions. If you have insurance through another provider, upon payment I will provide you with a detailed receipt you can submit yourself for reimbursement.
What to expect
During our first session we will spend time going over any questions you have. We will discuss any necessary paperwork, and I will ask questions about what brought you to seek support and what goals you may have. You have the right to decline to answer any questions I ask, and you only need to share what you feel comfortable talking about. We will also discuss plans for working together, if we agree it is a good fit. You have no obligation to continue working with me, if you do not feel it is the right fit for your needs. If I believe your needs are best met by another therapist who better specializes in what you are hoping to achieve, I may refer you to another therapist. You can also ask me for recommendations of other therapists should you believe you would be better matched with someone else.
How long will it take?
The length of therapy varies depending on your specific needs and circumstances. People come to therapy from a range of backgrounds and for a variety of reasons. Some may come with a specific issue or concern, want explore past experiences, or explore patterns and relationships. Others simply want to know themselves better. Regardless of why you are seeking therapy or the type of therapy you are doing, it is important to remember that ultimately you are the expert in you. You have the right to ask questions about what we are doing at any time, and have the ability to stop therapy whenever you choose.
